What kind of relationship with God do you have? As a follower of Christ, ask the Holy Spirit to use the following Bible verses to increase your love for God.

God Loves You

God’s Love is Unconditional

“But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” —Romans 5:8

God’s Love is Unstoppable

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” —Romans 8:38-39

God’s Love is Unfathomable

“I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” —Ephesians 3:18-19

God Demonstrates His Love for You. . .

God Died for You

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” —Romans 5:8

God Forgives Your Sins

“Surely for my own welfare I had such great anguish; but Your love has delivered me from the pit of oblivion, for You have cast all my sins behind Your back.” —Isaiah 38:17

God Does Not Condemn You

“He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities.” —Psalm 103:9-10

God is Gracious to You

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.” —Ephesians 2:4-5

God Adopted You

“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.” —1 John 3:1

God Gives You His Attention

“What is mankind that you make so much of them, that you give them so much attention, that you examine them every morning and test them every moment?” —Job 7:17

God Gives You Good Gifts

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” —James 1:17

God is Faithful to You

“…if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.” —2 Timothy 2:13

You Demonstrate Your Love for God When You. . .

Love God Wholeheartedly

“Jesus said to him, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’” —Matthew 22:37

Love God Above All Others

“Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” —Matthew 10:37

Obey God

“Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” —John 14:21

Love Others

“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” —1 John 4:8

Sacrifice for One Another

“If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” —1 John 3:17

Serve God

“We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.” —1 Thessalonians 1:3

Thank God

“Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good; his love endures forever.” —Jeremiah 33:11

Glorify God

“Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.” —Psalm 63:3

Stay in God’s Love

“…keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.” —Jude 1:21

Cultivate Intimacy with God

Desire for God

“As a deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God! I thirst for God, for the living God. I say, ‘When will I be able to go and appear in God’s presence?’” —Psalm 42:1-2

Seek God

“When you seek me in prayer and worship, you will find me available to you. If you seek me with all your heart and soul,” —Jeremiah 29:13

“With all my heart I seek you. Do not let me stray from your commands.” —Psalm 119:10

“Seek the Lord while he makes himself available; call to him while he is nearby!” —Isaiah 55:6

Know God

“I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, will give you spiritual wisdom and revelation in your growing knowledge of him,” —Ephesians 1:17

“‘If people want to boast, they should boast about this: They should boast that they understand and know me. They should boast that they know and understand that I, the Lord, act out of faithfulness, fairness, and justice in the earth and that I desire people to do these things,’ says the Lord.” —Jeremiah 9:24

Love God

“We love because he loved us first.” —1 John 4:19

Fear God (Revere God’s Awesomeness)

“Who among the gods is like you, O Lord? Who is like you – majestic in holiness, fearful in praises, working wonders?” —Exodus 15:11

Trust God

“Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we depend on the Lord our God.” —Psalm 20:7

“It is better to take shelter in the Lord than to trust in people.” —Psalm 118:8

“How blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord and does not seek help from the proud or from liars!” —Psalm 40:4

Live a Righteous Life

Serve God
