32277 Habit 7. Enjoy God

Do you take daily delight in your relationship with God? He wants to be enjoyed by us. This is the most marvelous relationship we can ever have and yet we usually miss out on all God has in store because we are so focused on the material realm.

Our God is invisible but His daily involvement in our lives and presence is obvious to a discerning observer. There are several ways you can enjoy God moment by moment throughout every day.

Delight in God’s Presence

Enjoy being aware that he is constantly with you.

Ask the Holy Spirit to make the following scriptures a reality in your life. Cultivate the art of enjoying our invisible, magnificent God.

“How blessed are the people who worship you! O Lord, they experience your favor.” – Psalm 89:15

“Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit lives in you?” – 1 Corinthians 3:16

“Where can I go to escape your Spirit? Where can I flee to escape your presence? If I were to ascend to heaven, you would be there. If I were to sprawl out in Sheol, there you would be. If I were to fly away on the wings of the dawn, and settle down on the other side of the sea, even there your hand would guide me, your right hand would grab hold of me. If I were to say, ‘Certainly the darkness will cover me, and the light will turn to night all around me,’ even the darkness is not too dark for you to see, and the night is as bright as day; darkness and light are the same to you.” – Psalm 139:7-12

“And the Lord said, ‘My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.’” – Exodus 33:14

“And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” – Matthew 28:20

“You lead me in the path of life. I experience absolute joy in your presence; you always give me sheer delight.” – Psalm 16:11

“For you grant him lasting blessings; you give him great joy by allowing him into your presence.” – Psalm 21:6

“You have not seen him, but you love him. You do not see him now but you believe in him, and so you rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy” – 1 Peter 1:8

“The person who has my commandments and obeys them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him.” – John 14:21

Throughout each day, are you conscious of God’s presence? How do you acknowledge Him? How do you relate to Him?
