31020 Daily Walk with God

For a love relationship to grow, whether it is a friendship, parent-child relationship, a marriage, or a romance, you must spend time together with that person.

In the same way, your relationship with God must be cultivated and nurtured. You must give attention to God just as you would your loved one – your son or daughter, your spouse, your friends, etc. – in order for the relationship to grow. It is all about getting to know the other person.

Walking with God daily, you are getting to know him. Even though he is spirit and invisible, even though he is the holy Creator who is an entirely different being from us, he makes himself knowable and accessible through Jesus. What a privilege we have in Christ!

Time with God on this app is designed to help you spend time with God on a daily and even moment by moment (read Experiencing God 24/7).

Again just like with any human relationship, you also get to know God in a similar manner.

Spend some uninterrupted and private time with God. Try to order your life so that you will have a regular time alone with God every day.

When you get busy with your everyday life activities, keep in mind that God is with you and in you. If your boss were with you all day at work, you would be always aware that your boss is with you. In the same way, try to be constantly mindful of God’s presence.

Another way to walk with God is to be involved in the communal life of the body of Christ. When you gather together with other believers for learning, prayer, fellowship, and worship, you deepen your personal relationship with God.

Another very beneficial practice is to retreat periodically from your daily activities altogether. One time Jesus told his disciples to stop what they were doing and get away by themselves with him (Mark 6:31). It is a time to rest and recharge by spending time with God. You can have a retreat time with God whenever you need to “step back” and seek God for directions and guidance.

You may be faced with a challenging season (weeks, months, years) of dealing with financial problems, relational situations, troubles at work, and poor health. Even in such a time, God journeys with you through all the difficulties and pains.

At the end of each day as you go to sleep, prepare your next day by inviting God to be in your sleep and dreams. Even in your sleep, he is with you.

For God speaks, the first time in one way,
the second time in another,
though a person does not perceive it.
In a dream, a night vision,
when deep sleep falls on people
as they sleep in their beds. (Job 33:14–15)
