23364 Have I Sinned Against Others?

By being untruthful?

“Therefore, having laid aside falsehood, each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, because we are members of one another.” —Ephesians 4:25

By being envious?

“But if you have bitter jealousy and selfishness in your hearts, do not boast and tell lies against the truth.” —James 3:14

By wanting what they have?

“You must not desire another man’s wife, nor should you crave his house, his field, his male and female servants, his ox, his donkey, or anything else he owns.” —Deuteronomy 5:21

By being greedy?

“The one who is greedy for gain troubles his household, but whoever hates bribes will live.” —Proverbs 15:27

By tempting others to sin?

“But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a huge millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the open sea. —Matthew 18:6

By defrauding or stealing?

“You must not oppress your neighbor or commit robbery against him. You must not withhold the wages of the hired laborer overnight until morning. ” —Leviticus 19:13

By falsely praising or complimenting?

“For these are the kind who do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By their smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of the naive.” —Romans 16:18

By deceiving?

“In this matter no one should violate the rights of his brother or take advantage of him, because the Lord is the avenger in all these cases, as we also told you earlier and warned you solemnly.” —1 Thessalonians 4:6

By being hypocritical?

“They profess to know God but with their deeds they deny him, since they are detestable, disobedient, and unfit for any good deed.” —Titus 1:16

By neglecting their needs?

“See here – this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters had majesty, abundance of food, and enjoyed carefree ease, but they did not help the poor and needy.”—Ezekiel 16:49

By being judgmental?

“Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For by the standard you judge you will be judged, and the measure you use will be the measure you receive. Why do you see the speck in your brother’s eye, but fail to see the beam of wood in your own?  Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye,’ while there is a beam in your own? You hypocrite! First remove the beam from your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.” —Matthew 7:1-5

By being vengeful or bitter?

“Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all people.  Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. ” —Romans 12:17,19

By slandering?

“Do not speak against one another, brothers and sisters. He who speaks against a fellow believer or judges a fellow believer speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but its judge. ” —James 4:11

By showing favoritism?

“Before God and Christ Jesus and the elect angels, I solemnly charge you to carry out these commands without prejudice or favoritism of any kind. ” —1 Timothy 5:21

By being unfair or unjust?

“You must not deal unjustly in judgment: you must neither show partiality to the poor nor honor the rich. You must judge your fellow citizen fairly.” —Leviticus 19:15

By causing strife or quarrels?

But reject foolish and ignorant controversies, because you know they breed infighting.  And the Lord’s slave must not engage in heated disputes but be kind toward all, an apt teacher, patient.” —2 Timothy 2:23-24

By getting angry with them?

“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters! Let every person be quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger. For human anger does not accomplish God’s righteousness.” —James 1:19-20

By being hateful?

“But the one who hates his fellow Christian is in the darkness, walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.” —1 John 2:11

By gossiping about them?

“The one who goes about gossiping reveals secrets; therefore do not associate with someone who is always opening his mouth.” —Proverbs 20:19

By not returning good for evil?

“See that no one pays back evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all. ” —1 Thessalonians 5:15

By looking down on others?

“We have had our fill of the taunts of the self-assured, of the contempt of the proud.” —Psalms 123:4

By being abusive?

“The Lord approves of the godly, but he hates the wicked and those who love to do violence.” —Psalms 11:5
