Father God, You are holy, so I will dedicate myself to You in purity, worship, and service.

24141 You Are Love

“God is love. God showed how much He loved us by sending His only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. This is real love. It is not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins” (1 John 4:8-10, NLT).

“How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1, NIV).

“If we love each other, God lives in us, and His love has been brought to full expression through us” (1 John 4:12, NLT).

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. Love does not demand its own way. Love is not irritable, and it keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Love will last forever, but prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will all disappear” (1 Corinthians 13:4-8, NLT).

“How precious is Your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of Your wings” (Psalm 36:7, NLT).

– – – – – – –

“Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death?” “No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from His love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:35, 37-39, NLT).

“May your roots go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous love. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love really is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Then you will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from God” (Ephesians 3:17-19, NLT).

Father God, You are love, so You are wholeheartedly dedicated to my welfare.

24111 You Are A Personal Spirit

“I reach out for You. I thirst for You as parched land thirsts for rain” (Psalm 143:6, NLT).

“All night long I search for You; earnestly I seek for God” (Isaiah 26:8,9, NLT).

“I seek You with all my heart; do not let me stray from Your commands” (Psalm 119:10, NIV).

– – – – – – –

“The one thing I ask of the LORD—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, delighting in the LORD’s perfections and meditating in His Temple. Then I will hold my head high, above my enemies who surround me. At His Tabernacle I will offer sacrifices with shouts of joy, singing and praising the LORD with music. Listen to my pleading, O LORD. Be merciful and answer me! My heart has heard You say, ‘Come and talk with Me.’ And my heart responds, ‘LORD, I am coming’” (Psalm 27:4, 6-8, NLT).

Father God, You are a personal Spirit, so I will pursue an intimate relationship with You.

47159 The Spiritual Conflict

We live in a world at war.

But it is not the kind of war that you see online, or worse, what you are experiencing right now. It is not a conflict between tribes, religions, races, or nations. It is fundamentally spiritual in nature.

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. (Ephesians 6:12)

The Bible gives us the reality of spiritual conflict in our lives.

Spiritual Reality

There are spiritual beings that are superior in power to human beings. In the Bible, they are called “sons of God”, “host of heaven”, or “gods”.

Some spiritual beings rebelled against God. The Apostle Paul describes them as thrones, dominions, principalities, powers, rulers, and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens (see Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 1:15). The chief among these evil spirits is known as the devil or Satan.

The word, devil, comes from diabolos, a Greek word that means a slanderer or a false accuser. Satan is a Hebrew word that means an adversary.

The spiritual war is not between God and the devil. It is between humans and the evil spiritual beings, and more specifically, between God’s people and the adversary (the satan) and his demonic army.

Their cruel hatred of human beings is partly rooted in the fact that we all bear the image of God. The evil spirits will stop at nothing and is bent on the complete destruction of humankind.

Before we came to know Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we were under the control of the evil one, and willingly or unknowingly, we participated in our own destruction.

Now that we have been rescued from the domain of darkness and transferred to the Kingdom of God, we have become the enemy of the evil ones.

Unfortunately, you have no choice in this matter. The open war is upon you whether you acknowledge it or not.

The good news is that good will always triumph over evil in the end. God Himself has made sure of that.

Death has been the weapon of the devil and his army. But Jesus has already neutralized the power of death with His resurrection. The adversary (the satan) is a defeated foe.

Your Mission

God has a mission for you.

You are to live a life worthy of the Lord in partnership with the Holy Spirit so that you shine brightly as the light of the world to show everyone around you the reality of God and His love and truth.

When you live like Jesus in radical obedience to the Holy Spirit, His manifest presence will accompany you and bring healing, peace, and hope to the people under the bondage of the evil ones. Jesus will rescue them from the power of darkness.

You are called to be the agent of good, representing Jesus the Price of peace to the world of chaos and destruction.

For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13)

To stand up for truth and love your neighbor as yourself, you are commanded to take up the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:14–18).

  • Fasten the belt of truth around your waist.
  • Put on the breastplate of righteousness.
  • Ftt your feet with the preparation that comes from the good news of peace.
  • Take up the shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
  • Take the helmet of salvation.
  • Take the sword of the Spirit (which is the word of God).
  • With every prayer and petition, pray at all times in the Spirit.

When you engage in the world with the proper mindset and preparation, the true significance and meaning of your everyday living will become apparent.

47110 Meet Jesus

Religion is man’s search for God.

But the Bible shows that God is searching for us!

Religious practices try to elevate us toward God, but according to the Bible, God came down to meet us where we are. How?

Meet Jesus.

Jesus is the Anglicized name of Yeshu’a. The name means “Yahweh (God) saves”.

He was a Jewish Rabbi (teacher) who lived in today’s Israel 2000 years ago. He was called the Christ, which was a Greek translation of the Hebrew word, Mashiach. It means an anointed one.

When He was on the earth, Jesus healed the sick, cast out demons, and raised the dead. He treated both men and women with dignity and equity, welcomed children, embraced the marginalized, and restored the social outcast. He forgave those who crucified Him and criticized those who abused their religious authority. He was good to all and dangerous to those in power.

Rev. James Allan Francis wrote One Solitary Life to beautifully describe Jesus.

One Solitary Life

He was born in an obscure village,
a child of a peasant woman.
He grew up in another obscure village
where he worked in a carpenter shop
until he was thirty.
Then for three years,
he was an itinerant preacher.
He never had a family.
Or owned a home.
He never set foot inside a big city.
He never traveled two hundred miles
from the place he was born.
He never wrote a book
or held an office.
He did none of the things
that usually accompany greatness.
While he was still a young man,
the tide of popular opinion
turned against him.
His friends deserted him.
He was turned over to his enemies.
He went through the mockery of a trial.
He was nailed to a cross
between two thieves.
While he was dying
his executioners gambled
for the only piece of property he had,
his coat.
When he was dead,
he was taken down
and laid in a borrowed grave.

Nineteen centuries have come and gone
and today he is still the central figure
for much of the human race.
All the armies that ever marched,
All the navies that ever sailed
And all the parliaments that ever sat
And all the kings that ever reigned
Put together
have not affect the life of man
Upon this earth
As powerfully as this
One Solitary Life.

Video Transcript

Watch the Video

If you were to die tonight, would you go to heaven?

Jesus explained that heaven is not an automatic destination. He said: “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the way that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matthew 7:13–14, BSB).

Jesus taught that there are only two destinations after we die. One is in heaven with God forever, and the other is in hell separated from God for eternity.

Is there really anything more important than knowing where you will spend eternity?

Jesus asked this profound question: “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?” (Mark 8:36–37, NIV).

God’s deepest desire is that people will spend eternity in Heaven someday. The apostle Paul explains that God our Savior, “desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth” (1 Timothy 2: 4, ESV).

However, we can forfeit heaven through unbelief or ignorance when we do not accept God’s incredible offer of forgiveness.

God is very interested in the choice you will make that will decide your eternal destination. In fact, he wants you to know that you can spend eternity with him.

John, one of Jesus’ disciples, said, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life” (1 John 5:13, NIV).

This means that, before you die, you can know where you will spend eternity.

The major religions of the world offer no guarantee that you will go to heaven when you die. They teach that a person must do good deeds and follow a list of rules to please a distant God and then maybe attain salvation. But there is no guarantee.

These religions are focused on what we do. “Do this” or “do that” and maybe you will get into heaven? They do not provide assurance that you will be permitted into heaven. It is only because of who God is and what Jesus has done for you, that you can be confident you will enter heaven.

Would you like to know how you can be certain you are going to heaven?

First, you must understand the barrier that prevents you from being with God when you die.

Romans 3:23 declares, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”.

Sin is any thought, word, or deed that violates God’s moral standards. If you’re honest, you know there have been times in your life when you’ve missed the mark. Your thoughts and actions weren’t what they should be. That is sin. And because God is infinitely holy, one sin is enough to separate you from him for eternity.

Many people try to bridge the divide between them and God through good works, or sacrificial acts. Or by being faithful members of some religion. But the Bible is clear that it is impossible to earn our entrance into heaven by anything we can do.

Jesus told his followers: “You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect” (Matthew 5:48, ESV).

But none of us are perfect. No matter how hard we try, we continue to fall short. So, what do we do? Fortunately, God has a solution.

Romans 6:23 promises, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord”.

Death, or separation from God, is the natural result of sin. But God, knowing our impossible situation, found a way to bridge that divide. Out of his deep love for us, God sent his son, Jesus.

“For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16, NET).

Jesus came to earth to reveal the very heart of God through his actions and his teachings. And he voluntarily sacrificed himself on the cross to pay the penalty for us.

As the infinite God-man, Jesus took upon himself the punishment we deserve because of our sin. He became the perfect sacrifice, our substitute.

“God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:21, NLT).

Author Randy Alcorn wrote: “God … so much wants us not to go to hell that he paid a horrible price on the cross so that we wouldn’t have to.”

So heaven is not something we earn, but an incredible gift we are offered. It is not based on our deeds but on our personal relationship with Jesus.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9, NIV).

On the cross, Jesus exclaimed, “It is finished” (John 19:30, NIV). The Greek word translated “it is finished” was normally written across certificates of debt when they were canceled. It means “paid in full.” When Jesus died, he paid in full our debt of sin.

And Jesus’ story doesn’t end with the grave.

Three days after his crucifixion, Jesus Christ rose from the dead, just as he said he would. He conquered death, opening the way to heaven for all who trust in him.

Jesus proclaimed, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die” (John 11:25–26, NIV).

So how do we experience this eternal life?

According to the Bible, there is only one way to heaven. Jesus declared, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6, NLT).

The Bible promises “But to all who have received him—those who believe in his name—he has given the right to become God’s children” (John 1:12, NET).

The apostle Paul explains, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9, NIV).

Believing in Jesus means placing your total and complete trust in him for your salvation. But you need to choose to receive Christ and follow him.

A criminal can be offered a pardon for his crimes by the governor, but if he rejects it, that pardon has no effect. In the same way, Jesus offers us a complete pardon for all our sins and the gift of eternal life, but it does not go into effect unless we accept it.

Are you ready to receive this free gift now?

God has given every person the freedom to choose their own destiny. He didn’t have to do that. He could have created us to be robotic people programmed to love and obey him, but then our compulsory love would be meaningless. God wants us to love him freely, so he gave us the right to choose.

Will you choose to accept God’s amazing offer of forgiveness and eternal life? Or will you decide to reject it? Choose wisely because you are determining your eternal future. Don’t put off this crucial decision.

The Bible explains, “Whoever believes in the Son of God accepts this testimony … God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:10–12, NIV).

God knows your thoughts and motives, and he wants you to come to him because he dearly loves you and wants you to spend eternity with him.

To receive God’s forgiveness and start a new life with him, you must believe that Jesus is God, that he died for your sins and rose again, and that he wants to come into your life.

If you have never invited Jesus into your life, you can simply pray the following words. However, it’s not the exact words you say, but the attitude of your heart that is important.

“Dear Lord Jesus, thank you for dying for all my sins—past, present, and future. Thank you for giving me eternal life, which you made possible by your death and resurrection. I receive you as my Savior by faith, and desire you to be Lord of my life. I give you the right to make me into the kind of person you want me to be.”

Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If so, pray it now or pray something similar using your own words.

If you have made this commitment to Jesus Christ, your life with him here on earth has started and will continue with him in heaven!

He will help you to become the brand-new person he created you to be. He is freeing you to experience a life of meaning, purpose, and power.

What is your response?

No, I didn’t pray the prayer.

Yes, I prayed the prayer and invited Jesus into my life.

Yes, I prayed and rededicated my life to Jesus.

No, I have already invited Jesus into my life.

47156 You Are A New Creation

So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away —look, what is new has come! (2 Corinthians 5:17)

You are in Christ. The Holy Spirit dwells in you. God the Father loves you forever.

Being united with Christ, you are a new creation. The resurrection life of Jesus rebirthed you as a new being.

Before knowing Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we were all sinners. All of humanity has rebelled against God or doesn’t care about Him even though He is our Creator and Sustainer. Our spiritual nature was marred by sin.

Now that you are in Christ, the very core and true nature of who you are changed.

This new “you” is now united with Jesus and your new self exists entirely in fellowship with the Triune God (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, Three in One).

God’s Word, the Bible, tries to explain to you what has happened to you and your true identity in many different ways.

It is an adoption. You are now welcomed into God’s family. God is the King, and you are given the rights and privileges of royalty.

It is immigration. You now belong to another kingdom. “He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son” (Colossians 1:13, ESV).

It is a rebirth. You are born of God. With your first birth, you were born a child of Adam sharing his sinful nature. With your rebirth (born again), you are born a child of the Second Adam (Jesus Christ) with His holy nature.

Select the article series below and learn more about your true identity in Christ.

47155 The Secret to the Abundant Life

What makes Christians different from the rest of humanity?

What enables Christians to experience the fullness of the abundant life Jesus promises?

The “secret” is the Holy Spirit who dwells in them.

The Holy Spirit indwells those who are in Christ because His presence in them is the sign, seal, and guarantee of their union with Christ. But not every believer is guided and empowered by Him.

And yet, it is impossible to live a life worthy of the Lord, that is, a Christian life, without relying completely on the Holy Spirit. Jesus makes it clear.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me—and I in him—bears much fruit, because apart from me you can accomplish nothing.” (John 15:5)

A Christian life is a life in Christ. It is inseparable from Christ. Jesus is in us through the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Himself lived a life filled with the Holy Spirit.

It may surprise you that Jesus did everything recorded in the Gospels as a man filled with the Holy Spirit.

Jesus is God. His nature is 100% divine. At the same time, Jesus is fully human. He is God-man. Yes, this is a mystery. In the person of Jesus, God and man are perfectly united.

But when He was on the earth, Jesus lived as a human without relying on His divine nature or power (read Philippians 2:5–8) but on the Holy Spirit.

It is not an overstatement to say that the Holy Spirit is the key to the abundant life Jesus promised (John 10:10).

Being Filled with the Holy Spirit

A life in Christ is lived out in a relationship with Jesus. It’s a partnership. Even though you cannot do anything apart from Him, there is a vital part you play. You are to trust, obey, and rely on the Holy Spirit moment by moment. This is being filled with the Holy Spirit.

And do not get drunk with wine, which is debauchery, but be filled by the Spirit. (Ephesians 5:18)

When you are drunk, you are under the influence and control of alcohol. Being filled with the Spirit means to be under the influence and control of the Holy Spirit.

This is God’s command. So, the responsibility is yours to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

How to Be Filled with the Holy Spirit

You are filled with the Holy Spirit by faith. Every time you choose to trust the Holy Spirit and believe that He is in you and that He is guiding and empowering you, you are filled with Him.

Follow these three steps in the article, “How to Be Filled with the Holy Spirit“.

How to Walk in the Holy Spirit

Walking according to the Spirit (Romans 8:4) or living by the Spirit (Galatians 5:16) refers to a way of life in which you are being guided and empowered by the Holy Spirit throughout the day every day.

When you walk in the Spirit, you will bear the fruit of the Spirit.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22–23)

Being in Christ, you will be able to live in love, joy, and peace. Your life will be characterized by patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

You are no longer a sinner but a saint, holy one. Of course, that doesn’t mean you will never sin.

But if we walk in the light as he himself is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. (1 John 1:7)

When being filled with the Spirit becomes a way of life, you are walking in the light.

But if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous, forgiving us our sins and cleansing us from all unrighteousness. (I John 1:9)

When you sin as a Christian, the blood of Christ cleanses you from all sin if you are walking in the light. Then, you confess your sin and practice spiritual breathing to be filled with the Spirit again.

When you sin as a Christian, you don’t ask God for forgiveness. God has already forgiven you all of your sins because Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty. of your sins. What you need to do is to confess your sin.

To confess means to agree with God.

By confessing your sin, you are agreeing with God about your sin. You agree with God that what you did was a sin against Him. You agree with Him that it is absolutely offensive, disgraceful, and repulsive. You agree with God that you are no longer a sinner bound by the power of your sin but a saint in Christ who desires holiness above all else. You agree with Him that you want a life that is free from your sin. You agree with Him that your deep desire is to love Him and to live a life pleasing to Him. You agree with Him that His Holy Spirit can give you strength and wisdom to overcome your sin.

47153 Your New Relationship with Jesus

Becoming a Christian means that you belong to Jesus. There is a new relationship between God and you through Jesus. You are united with Christ.

When you sincerely receive Jesus Christ into your life and trust Him as your Lord and Savior, you have entered a new relationship with God. Now, Jesus is the Lord and Master over your life. You have turned over the control of your life and given Him the right to tell you what to do and how to live your life. You now trust Him that He died on the cross to pay the penalty of your sins. God has forgiven you because of Christ and given you new life in Christ.

You will know at that time that I am in my Father and you are in me and I am in you. (John 14:20)

When you become a Christian, you are in Christ. Jesus is now within you through the Holy Spirit who dwells in you.

I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Being a Christian does not primarily mean following a new set of dos and don’ts.

You cannot live a Christian life in your own efforts and strengths.

Being a Christian means to let Jesus live His life through yours. This takes place in your relationship with Jesus.

That is why it is important for you to grow in your relationship with Him. Jesus commands you to remain close to Him moment by moment.

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. (John 15:4)

It is like a ballroom dance. In the ballroom dance, a man and a woman dance together. A man leads, and a woman closely follows. Jesus leads you step by step. That is how Jesus Himself lived with the Father. He has given us an example.

So Jesus answered them, “I tell you the solemn truth, the Son can do nothing on his own initiative, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise. For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he does, and will show him greater deeds than these, so that you will be amazed. (John 5:19–20)

Jesus was always in close fellowship with the Father. He did what the Father showed Him and told Him to do (also read John 12:49).

Jesus also demonstrated to us how to remain close to the Father.

Then Jesus got up early in the morning when it was still very dark, departed, and went out to a deserted place, and there he spent time in prayer. (Mark 1:35)

Jesus frequently slipped away from His disciples and crowds to be alone with the Father. He carved out time in His busy schedule to spend time with God.

All the rules and commands you find in the Bible, particularly in the New Testament, are meant to draw you closer to God and strengthen your fellowship with Him.

47152 God Loves You

Good news! God loves you and wants a love relationship with you. You may ask, “Why would an eternal, holy God care about me?”

The answer: Because God is love. Love permeates His entire being. No person will ever love you more, be as committed to you, or make a greater sacrifice for you than God.

When you understand God’s incredible love for you, it fills your need for love. This revelation helps you rest in His love regardless of your circumstances. Human love from imperfect beings will often fail you, but God’s love is solid truth that will last forever.

God’s Love is Unconditional

God loves you because of who He is, not because of what you have done or not done.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” — Romans 5:8

God’s Love is Unstoppable

No matter what circumstance you find yourself in, you will never be separated from the love God has for you.

“For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor heavenly rulers, nor things that are present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in creation will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” — Romans 8:38-39

God’s Love is Unfathomable

God’s love for you is so vast that it surpasses anything your mind can even imagine or dream of. But God created you to know, and come fully alive in, His love.

“You will be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and thus to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you will be filled up to all the fullness of God.” — Ephesians 3:18-19

God invites you to enjoy a love relationship with Him.
